We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch, we are going back from whence we came. ~John F. Kennedy
I was there for less than 72 hours, yet island time was once again kairos time. I returned to the rhythm of the ocean because I had lost mine. I returned to the smell of the sea because everything was starting to smell and taste the same. I returned to gather shells that have been worn, warped, and polished by the sea and sand so that I might be more open to seeing all phases of beauty in others. I returned because I was craving sea salt and Vitamin D. I returned because the waves on my sound machine just weren’t cutting it. I returned because the waters have always called me back and carried me until our next visit. I returned because I am deeply tied to the ocean.
